One issue Sheila plans to tackle is an ordinance addressing trash hauling issues in unincorporated areas. Only 3 of 9 townships have a single hauler contract. In some communities, various trash haulers service the same areas on different days, resulting in up to 12 heavy trash trucks per week, up and down the same streets. The impact of wear and tear on the roads, interference with snowplows, safety issues, and carbon emissions is significant and harmful to our residents. An ordinance addressing these circumstances is important.
